This series of colored pencil drawings utilize Renaissance techniques for portraying the divine as softly radiant to envision historically monstrous images of the ill and the feminine as complex amalgamations of light and dark. While the fragmented figures suggest ghosts and invisible men, and the close up of scars and inflammation symbolize violence and pain, these vulnerability of the bare figures, charged expressions, and evocative poses speak to a human sense of compassion.
